Marker soaked white boards in the clubhouse, paper diaries and WhatsApp groups that never stop. At Pitchbooking we’ve seen the lengths that club volunteers go to ensure their facilities can be used by the various teams, as well as bring in some much needed income for the club.
Typically a club volunteer will use one of the above methods to manage their bookings and payments for their facility. You can see at a glance who is scheduled to play when it’s recorded on a whiteboard, but only if you’re in the clubhouse when a booking request comes through. The paper diary might give you some insight into who played when (and who owes what!), but it can quickly become unmanageable when there are cancellations or changes to a team's training schedule. The WhatsApp group allows for easier contact by the booker, but it leads to wasted time responding to each request, and you have to look up the whiteboard or diary to see availability anyway!
At Pitchbooking we help club volunteers bring their club into the 21st Century whilst protecting their time. We want club volunteers to spend their valuable volunteering hours doing what they enjoy most. That may be coaching, ground maintenance or supporting the team, but it’s almost certainly not dealing with booking requests and chasing up unpaid rental fees!
Our online platform lets users book and pay for the rental of your facility online, 24 hours a day, ensuring there’s never a double booking. As a volunteer, you and other club members can login from any device to see all bookings past, present and future. Clubs can protect their pitch by blocking out essential slots for their own team's training and match schedules, opening up only the additional free slots to the public.
