Pitchbooking have been selected by Belfast City Council, the Department of Justice and Dublin City Council as co-winners of the 'Amazing Spaces, Smart Places' SBRI challenge.

As successful applicants, we will now be delivering our proposed project, an innovative digital technology and data-driven solution across the cities, with the aim of providing better management of our local parks and open spaces.

The project will build on the technology solutions we have previously deployed in other UK cities, with additional new software and hardware solutions being developed to improve the management of our sports facilities, parks and open spaces.

Councillor John Kyle, deputy chair of Belfast City Council’s People and Communities Committee, said: “This pilot project gives us a unique opportunity to capture important data which will help Council improve how it manages our city parks and open spaces, and further enhance the experience for all users."

Speaking on the announcement, our co-founder Shea O'Hagan said: "We are delighted to get the opportunity to work on new technology that can encourage the use of the facilities around us, with the support and backing of forward thinking local councils. We are looking forward to see where this leads us as a company."
